Sorry, but I'm a "Pizza Purist", Neapolitan pizza is the only kind that actually counts.

I guess I'ma gonna pay for that statement.
Meh. Neapolitan 'za is also very good. We have a place (couple locations) here in town called Punch, makes a mean Neapolitan pie.

But..... time to pay. I consider NP much more of an Italian food dish, and a very tasty one. Whereas a greasy, meat, cheese and veggie (anchovies, please) laden deep dish is what we in/from Chicago (where we all know they invented the stuff. ) consider the real deal.

Of course I kid, to me pizza is like beer; if it's well made, and made from quality schtuff, it's good pie in my book. Even that floppy, sauceless stuff from NYC.

Haha! Were you still living in Chicago back when the Food Channel or whoever made that NY vs. Chicago pie contest? I watched that a few times, salivating at all the good pizza they showed. Quite the hotly contested issue!

I could care less about the style of pizza. If the dough/crust is good and there are quality toppings, I too consider it a good pizza. I don't have reservations about too many toppings either, within reason, of course.

While in the Cleveland area last night for Cleveland Beer Week, my buddy and I stopped in at a Donato's and picked up a Chicken Mariachi and also a Hawaiian pizza. Both delicious, but that Hawaiian is absolutely amazing. Good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and either fresh out of the oven, warmed up, or even straight out of the refrigerator. Yum!

I like Old Chicago's for deep dish pie. I have them make a BBQ pizza. No red sauce, instead BBQ sauce, their nacho cheese, scallions, chicken, red onions, and japalinoes.

I like a thin pizza with all the meats. If ever in my neck of the woods check out Brooklyn's Pizza. They are from NY but we love their pizza. And they have a few craft beers also.

Thin crust and NY style are very good. I eat more thin crust than anything, did even when I lived in Chicago. Deep dish is great, but there's something about a super cheesy, greasy thin that can't be beat.

Made the Reuben Pizza this weekend. Used too much rye flour and the crust ended up dry, lesson learned for next time.

Other than that it was a good first attempt.

I like pizzas with shrimp and a lot of bell pepper.
