The owner of a popular craft brewery in Northern California has announced on Twitter his intention to start making beer in Chicago.
Tony Magee, founder of Lagunitas Brewing Co., said he wants to set up in part of the old Ryerson Steel property at 18th and Rockwell. Cinespace Chicago Film Studios owns the space but would lease part of it.

In the tweets, Tony mentioned being from Chicago.
Part of his justification was that the cost savings over shipping to the East more than offset the cost of a new brewery. His thought, "I want to get some of the diesel out of the beer."

He's from Chicago. Also the Chicago location is supposedly going to supply product to all states east of the Rockies so Chicago would be a great central distribution center.
I read somewhere that they will be offering growler refills at the brewery. Can’t wait to try some fresh Lagunitas, hopefully that also make more of the Lagunitas Sucks. Really enjoy that beer.
Been waiting for this for a while. One of my overall favorite breweries. If I could by them local probably 6 of the beer on my list in the My Top 10 Beers listed in another thread would be Lagunitas
