I ended up putting the pectic enzyme in a couple nights ago. We'll see how it works.

This was my first cider, so I was clueless from the get-go. I'll look into Liquor Quick before I make another one...

The same thing happened to my 2L jar recently. Now I just use my 1L flask and do step-ups...

A few of us from our recently formed brew club chipped in on a bourbon barrel. We have to build a stand for it first so I'll take some pics.

Obviously, we also have to fill that bad boy quickly! Since none of us have access to a 50 gallon brew system, AND we are making a huge imperial stout, it will be interesting to see how we cobble together our Franken-beer from 5 or 6 [if we need the grain space] different batches!

Voted on the future contents of our clubs newly acquired wine barrels this morning. We got 4, 2 red zin, one cab and one merlot. Looks like we'll be doing a couple stouts, a golden strong and Flander's red. I'm also working on a few tweaks to my black IPA recipe that I'll be brewing in a couple weeks.

Brewed up the House Pale ale last night. Damn parents of the kids trick or treating kept bothering me asking if I was giving away beer and when they should come back. Eventually, I told them I was making gumbo. Hit all our numbers, pitched out yeast, and set the fermentation chamber to 66°F. Now to close with the words of Chip Walton, "BLAAAAAAM!!!!!!!"

Just picked up a new boil kettle. 13.25 gallons and fairly thick stainless steel for $165 RMB!!! That is $27.50 USD!

Having come to terms with the fact that I have no time, and little desire to re-enter the wonderful world of home brewing, i gave my remaining vacuum packed supply of hop pellets to a young friend of mine who is just starting out in the hobby.

I also turned him on to this forum and the home brew forum, so maybe he'll be along seeking wisdom

I also volunteered to taste test any beer he made, strictly in the interest of quality control you understand
