Default Blue Moon Pumpkin ale

I see that walmart has on the shelf already so I scored a pack along with some noble pils. The 2010 batch was great, the 2011 not as good, and I will give a report on the current batch. It seems a wee bit early in the year for them to run this beer.

I haven't seen their pumkin ale here before. I'll have to look out for it. I just bought canned pumpkin today, so I can brew one next weekend.

So far two bottles in, and it's seems well but not overly spiced like last years batch. It's close to what I remember of the 2010 batch that got me hooked on it.

I totally agree with you. I'm a HUGE pumpkin ale fan and thought last years sucked compared to 2010's. I'm still waiting for some to hit the store near Baltimore. I can't wait.

Anyone that likes pumpkin beers that hasn't tried Southern Tier Pumking is doing themselves a serious injustice. Far and away the best pumpkin beer made. 9% and tastes like pumpkin pie. I have an attempt at a clone in the secondary now.

Absolutely. Its in my top 5. I actually had a bomber left over from last year and decided to have it over the weekend. It almost brought a tear to my eye.

I might swing by the store tonight and pick up some different seasonal...I have never been too big into pumpkin beers, but I've only had a few.

I tell ya though, I cannot get enough of Oktoberfest/Marzen/Festbeir/Amber Lagers...I need to suck it up and attempt a lager!

I could totally drink those styles year around.

I finally got my hands on the Blue Moon Pumpkin, and I have to say I'm impressed. I also picked up Sam Adams pumpkin, and I didn't like it. My local bottle shop only has one brand of pumpkin ale at the moment. I'm waiting for them to stock up so I can pick up a few different varieties...
