Deep brown, with a dark caramel aroma. Nice malty flavor with caramel, toffee, and dark fruit flavor. Overall very drinkable .....

I agree that this is a great beer. It showed up in canned four-packs here in western Washington for an extremely reasonable $3.99. Then the price dropped to $2.99. I stocked up while I could, but it has disappeared now. Anyone know if it is going to make a return? I also saw it for sale in Ohio, also for $3.99.

Is that anything like Hobgoblin or Fuller's ESB?

It's from the mostly little-known brewery of Charles Wells in the mostly nondescript county of Bedfordshire, in England.

I found some in Trader Joes here in California. At TJ you just go with the flow for as long as they have it. In this case it was about three months. This coincided with a visit from my sister and her boyfriend from the UK. When I said I had some Bombardier in the fridge he perked right up!

I don't know whether this needs pointing out but it's 'Bombadeer' as in someone manning an artillery piece, not 'Bombadiay' as in the Canadian aircraft company.
I have to confess to veering to the latter on occasions. Sante !

Probably one of my favorite ESBs of all time. It's a very solid beer.
