Grew up in Vernon Hills and Crystal Lake. And yes, Mild Winter is a great beer, love the rye spice in a mild, good for those cold nights where lots of beer is needed.

Thanks for the greetings. Thats the great thing about microbrews.......that they are usually unique in their own way. The first time I tried Goose Island's Honkers ale I was very impressed to experience such a different tasting ale with its bready and cracker-like malts...... bitter citrus hop ....so unique. Whats your favorite from your hometown microbrews? Thanks again !

Mmmmm, Honker's Ale. Still one of my favorite session beers, always will be. Had one the other day with a couple of Maxwell St.'s at a local hole owned by two brothers from the west side.
You should poke around in the forums, lots of us post pics of our journeys through beerdom and BS about what's going on with our local craft scenes.
